A number of online sites offer free league play, either in the form of timed games on the Net or as correspondence chess.
From what I can tell GameKnot seems like one of the best, with over 100,000 registered players. It's correspondence chess, though, which means games typically run at a rate of 1 move per day or something like that. It also means players are allowed to consult chess books and game databases if they choose to (but no chess engines or asking friends for help).I vote yes for the atot chess team. which sites let you set these things up?
