My wife is pregnant and has been on a fruit kick. We found bing cherries on sale for $1.99 a pound (They were normally $5.99). We bought two huge bags and have been eating them like crazy for a week. :)

For something different I pitted and sliced some cherries and added them along with some pecans to a pancake batter. Very delicious.

Let's all give in to deliciousness!

I had a great fruit salad tonight. Combination of black cherries, blueberries, grapes, and peaches. Yum.

I had tons of cherries while I was in WA a couple weeks ago. So good. Then my coworker brought some cherries from a fruit stand into the office yesterday and I had 4 of them and my lips swelled up like balloons. I've never had an allergic reaction to any kind of food, it was bizarre! Now I'm scared to eat them again in the quantities I normally do.

I prefer blue berries! Today, I ate a whole container full (the plastic one they come in) of blue berries and some cherries from the big bag. Both were tasty. hmm... maybe I'll go grab couple of them right now! :D

They have been on sale in NJ for .99lb for the last month or so and I must have eaten 10 to 15 lbs of cherries during that time. Do cherry trees grow in NJ? Or do they need warm weather year round?

They are a pain in the ass to harvest.

I have worked on a large orchard during harvest, and a lot of sweat goes into each cherry to get it from the tree into your fridge :p

BTW- They are an excellent laxative :D

im in NYC

they're $4.99 a pound here, not 99 cents a pound.

if I was a bird, I'd fly about eating free cherries :p
Actually with my Stop and Shop discount card they were $2.99 a lbs.. In Ca my Folks have a couple of Cherry trees, the fscking birds love them and if my folks don't put netting over the trees there's none to be had after the birds are done with them

Cherries are so good to nibble on! Seattle has cherries out the whazoo, so I guess the expense depends on where you live?

They're like $4.99 a pound here in Boston.

1/2 that cost in Canada, usually $2/lb if that

"I don't know anything about cherries, all I get is the box they came in.....":music:

My wife makes great tarts, pies, and pastries with fresh cherries, blueberries, apricots, peaches, and even pineapple. It's FTW to be married to a professional baker...(but I am getting so fat that I look like Jabba-the-Hut...Hmm, Boomer-the-Hut?
