chenming 602 modding

would it be possible to replace the 4 80mm fans on the chenming 602-al without giving up the structural/cosmetic integrity... some cutting will be invoved and m willing to do that

i doubt its possible just by looking at the pics. The back doesn't look wide enough to accomidate a 120mm fan. The front will most likely require u to cut some of the panel as it is also not wide enough.
I have the dragon series, which is built similarly to your case and it will not take 120mm fans.

This is roughly the same case... with almost the same dimensions as the dragon series and it has a 120cm fan.

OR

You can just measure how much space you have in the back 😛

Chenming makes both the Cheiftec Dragon cases as well as the Antec 8xx/10xx cases. All good stuff.

I have an older Antec version and can tell you that the backboard is not wide enough to get a 120mm fan in there. Front could possibality fit but you would have to do some extensive modding.

My suggestion is to punch the rear holes for two QUIET 92's which will fit fine. Leave the 80's up front. You don't need front fans anyway other than to blow on your hard drives, an 80 will take care of business just fine.

You don't need a wind tunnel, just a nice even low of fresh air to draw out the heat.

I have the Chieftec Dragon and it is basically the same case.
There is not enough room on the back panel for a 120 and even if there was it would be real messy to put one there.
If you have to have one you could always put it on the right side panel at the top or even mount one on top of the case.
I'm thinking about getting this case and doing just that.

the case should be comming in for me tomorrow and i think i figured out a way to fit both front and rear 120mm fans, if it does work out for me ill make a thread discribing the process
