Cheesecake

Delicious and extremely horrible for you too. My cheesecake recipe averages out to 1000 calories a slice. It's damned good, but definitely can't eat a lot of it.

Ya I don't eat this kind of stuff often, I'll probably give away half of this thing to some lucky people 😀 And freeze some.

eating too much rich good cheesecake guarantees me a nasty trip to the porcelain god, so I guess that's a bodily defense against unhealthy eating right there 😛

I dunno, the last time I thought about making cheesecake, the ingredients cost about as much as just buying one...cream cheese is $$$.

Cakes and pies, now, there you save money.

Yeah, making it is expensive, oddly. Crust, cream cheese, etc.

Crust is cheap (just some grahm crackers, oreos, whatever), go to Costco for cream cheese. And you don't need a springform pan, just use a regular cake pan lined with parchment paper. The cost is much lower than something like cheesecake factory.

Plus the ladies find it impressive when a guy has some real culinary skills. 😎

Your crust fell apart.

It's pretty damn expensive to *make* cheesecake, too. You end up spending at least $10 in ingredients for a cheesecake, plus it's got about a billion calories, and you have to wait overnight before you can eat it.

Tastes good, though.

You and I both know that cheesecake-making is hardly difficult. 🙂

Nope, it never had a 'crust' on the edges, only the bottom. What I did was grind up some oreos and pack it on the bottom and bake for 10 mins, this forms your bottom crust, and only crust. On the sides what you see is more cookies that were just spread there by hand after it was baked, cooled, and removed from the pan. You could make this look like a real crust, but it really isn't.

But most people don't know that 😉

If you're savvy, you can find generic cream cheese for $.99 per 8 oz. package.
