Cheese vs Beef

Short:

Beef Ravioli vs Cheese Ravioli

Long:

So my friend and I were in Wegman's frozen food section where I was picking out a thing or two. I'm in the frozen pasta section looking for a tasty morsel or two, and much to his dismay, I reached for a bag of beef ravioli. Now, my friend's a half-Italian bloke who had to mention that cheese ravioli was by and large the best variant to consume. I humbly told him that his opinion was quite off and that Cheese ravioli suffers from having "too much cheese" when you put Parmesan on top of it. The thought of telling an Italian that there existed such a concept as "too much cheese" seemed to visibly upset him. So, we asked his wife and she simply loves the beef (insert your jokes here). So now the true winner has emerged, but I couldn't just let a sleeping dog lie. I inquired with the cashier girl and she, much to my dismay chose cheese as well.

Now Cheese is tied with Beef and simply we must have a clear cut winner!

So, Anandtech... which type of ravioli truly reigns supreme... beef or cheese?

With frozen ravioli, nobody wins.

Shh, it may've been frozen in the story, but it can be whatever you like in the poal! 🙂

EDIT:

Ohhh first time I've ever had a time warp occur :Q!

Chef Boyardee beef ravioli .. mmmmm 😉

Personally there's all sorts of stuff you ca put in ravioli, not just cheese or beef. Lobster, chicken, pork ... heck I once had oxtail ravioli.

One of the restaurants near me has a veal and parmesan stuffed ravioli that is awesome.

Best of both worlds.

Yeah, I've been meaning to try some chicken ravioli if I can find some that doesn't take awhile to make 😱. I prefer chicken over beef, so that'd probably be better for me.

Why not have beef ravioli in a cheese sauce and win both ways?

The only sauce I prefer to use on my ravioli is Wegman's Balognese Premium Sauce... it is by and large the best pasta sauce ever. I bought some ravioli at Giant last weekend and they didn't have that flavor in any brand, so I tried Bertolli's Four Cheese Tomato sauce and it was just... not good.

Hey my fellow Southern-Tier NYer.

This Endicott native of Italian descent prefers Beef TOPPED with cheese.

of course the question remains, why ask ATOT when you could have gone to the "Little Italy" section of Endicott

There's a Little Italy section of Endicott? I guess I don't travel around too often 😛.

Oh and have you ever tried the Wegman's Bolognese sauce? I highly recommend that stuff. It's in between the candy section and the international section right across from the pasta... the sauce in question is at around arm level closer toward the international section. Right next to the Vodka sauce.
