I think its sad that in 2014 theres still Americans with hostility towards race mixing.

Europe has been comfortable with this idea for decades.

It could be from the fact that in many situations, these result in daddy disappearing. At least in America.

In many cases you see white woman, white grandma, and biracial kid as a family unit.

I'm not hostile towards race mixing. I'm hostile to white women who choose to race mix and pick poor partners, and that happens in a majority of the cases. And once they do that, white men don't want them back. So the cycle repeats and said woman ends up with 2 biracial children with grandma taking care of them all. (And probably receiving plenty of social services)

Just eyeball a department store in the inner city and figure it out for yourself.

LOL, Europe is the most racist place Ive ever been to.

Lol, thats what I said too. In Europe there is open contempt of Gypsies and unshameful displays of discrimination even at the government level. Black players on soccer teams hear ape noises from the fans and get bananas thrown at them. Ask Eastern Europeans what they really feel about Muslims and Turks. Sorry but one of the worst examples ever.

Saw this yesterday...don't have a clue what the problem is...maybe manufactured drama by Cheerios to get publicity?

What??

First of all, europe has race issues of its own. So don't act like this is an "america" thing.

Second, you will always have some small portion of a population that is racist. It's no different than 2% or whatever being schizo. Just because racism exists does not mean we have a racism problem.

Mainstream, societal, or institutional racism has not been a problem in the US for quite some time... Late 80's/Early 90's and it's gone. "American culture" does not support or allow racism. Yes, there are extremely old people who are racist. Yes, a small portion of crazies are racist. But all too often nowadays people learn to blame their problems on this all encompassing "Racism".

I agree. General Mills obviously generated good enough sales from the first controversy and are ready to weather the second round on a larger scale. Too bad the commercial is uninspired and uneventful.

Either you made this statement a) as a parody b) to generate controversy c) out of true naiveté d) with having never been to Europe. 🙂

Another "racism is a thing of the past" post by a racial majority who's never had to experience it in his life.

WTF is wrong with some people. Only a racist would talk about race differences in that ad, regardless if they say/think about it in a positive or a negative way. The non-racists would not even bother to think about race differences and talk about how adorable the kid is, happy family, puppy, cute, Cheerios, etc.

I'm still trying to figure out why anyone would use YouTube comments as a guage for racist opinions. Sometimes it seems like just typing a comment on a video automatically inserts racial slurs as a default action.

So how many iterations of "I'm laughing at the folks laughing at the folks making fun of..." do I need to be the hippest person in the room?
