when it rains it pours. that is just how it always seems to be for me as well. i'm not feeling down or anything, but the past week a bunch of financial things came up and it kind of stressed me out a little bit.

- found out my insurance doesn't cover sonograms fully so a bit of my wifes pregnancy is going to cost us more (i have some in an HSA but not enough to cover everything).
- had to get some oral surgery, and since i'm on a high deductible plan, i'm sure i'll have to fit a bill for it
- had to get my brakes changed, and even though my buddy who's a mechanic did it for me for $345 instead of the $1k+ it would have cost at a shop, it still was out of nowhere.
- got the ip6 so had to pay for that.
- and this is while we have $9100 to pay off for the balance of our backyard renovation, although we have until next july to pay it off interest free. but i just put $3k into it since i just got paid. i just want to get it paid off asap.
- going to san diego for a week at the beginning of november so have to save for that, even though we're staying at a friends house and the tickets out there were free with southwest points.

but now that i kind of have all of that under control, i am not really worrying about it as much.

why are you on a high deductible plan with a child on the way?

Also, doing your own brakes would save you so much money and hassle.... if that's even an option 😛

cause it's free, and the deductible is $2600/yr for the whole family, and my company puts $1300/yr in it, so i only have to put $1300/yr pre-tax into it to cover my entire deductible.

and he only charged me $100 in labor, the brakes were $245 in parts. i'd gladly pay the $100 for a professional to do it. he used the lift and tools at the place he works too, which makes things much easier.

Aww, sorry you didnt get the job man. I was hoping things would go the other way. Ohh well, be patient, keep trying, perhaps hard work might pay off.. At least I believe thats how its supposed to work ...

Go to pharmacy school? We get paid ok, not as much as MD's, but it's enough to get by

Insecure much. Not hugged as a child?

TH, whenever you're feeling down, just remember: you could be part of a minority group that isn't part of a protected class, despite a long history of discrimination, whose rights are currently being denied throughout a lot of the country. And, you would have to continuously hear idiot reasons bigots continue to put forth about slippery slopes when all you want is to be able to adopt an otherwise unadopted child with the partner of your choosing.

Thank you.

I will keep trying.

Tell me a right that is being denied.

Texas I'm in a similar boat as you with regard to job interviews. Maybe sharing misery makes it better?

Seeing wages plummet on SOME of the jobs I am applying for makes me realize my current job isn't that bad as much as I dislike the working environment right now. The "I don't really want this job, job" wages have been declining all year. This coming from a guy who goes through all 25,000 job postings in a 25 mile radius of where I live for 4 hours on some nights for fun to pick out the postings people probably never see. Just something I do on my tablet to pass the time lately.

I've had 3 interviews in say 6 months. 1 Yes but the job sucked and I declined, 1 outright no, and 1 is still up in the air. On one hand I really get my mind set on one job. How great of a fit I would be and how much I'd like working there only to hear no. On the other hand its like f%^k it spam out those applications the job market is broken. Who knows if the job already has someones name on it and they are just going through the motions. I've become alot more stoic about caring about interviews. And I interview better because of it.

My current "up in the air" interview seems promising to me since they can't seem to find enough people to interview. 3 positions and they can't find the minimum of 5 people to interview. I like my odds.

To be fair my sister is a pharmacist and her Bi-weekly is in the $2,500-$2,750 range after deductions.

Knowing pharmacy thats probably something like they are taking away your vacation time and thats a check for all the accrued time off or your sign on bonus and first paycheck from 10 years ago or something.

5-10 years from now I wouldn't envy anyone working in pharmacy. There are long-term care pharmacies near me starting new grads at $60k with $200k in loans because of the pharmacist glut beginning. You better be saving the money while you can but you probably aren't going to judging by the brag post.

And this is why I save a shitload of money. Can I afford a $60 game or new phone? Yeah... definitely. But I prefer to just save a shitload of money.

Assuming that's monthly salary, I'd be depressed if I were you too.

I guess this is the depression thread. Trying to think what I might have to be depressed about... I've not had a redhead in like a week?

A Pharmacists budget is like $6,000 take home monthly then minus $1,000-$2,000/mo in student loans, so lulz.

Haha... Internet big shot. We're all so impressed. Not sure who is more insecure, you or the poster you quoted.

infiniti g37s, all new rotors and pads.

i could have easily paid off everything with money in savings, however it wasn't necessary to do so because i still had the means to pay everything off. the money in my savings is for true emergency situations, where it is the last resort.

Nissan rotors be like wom wom wom wom wom wom wom braking at high speed. 😛

yeah my car would shake like shit when i was braking at higher speeds. my buddy showed me on the rotor what was most likely causing that to happen when he took them off also, i had never held rotors before, and was surprised how heavy those fuckers are.
