Checksum error please help

Hey guys. Hopefully someone can help me this has been driving me effing crazy. For some odd reason, when I'm trying to extract a file (whether mkv, iso, etc), I keep getting a checksum error. This started happening sometime last year. I've been using Winrar and also tried 7 Zip when I tried researching this issue and heard of having success using that program but i get the same thing. I've tried downloading again and again but same issue. This happens too often to assume it was just a corrupt file during download.

Can someone please help?

How many files has this happened on? What kind of hardware do you have? Can you provide us with at least one example?

Last time this happened to me a bad cpu was the issue. What happens if you zip a file, put it on a flash drive and try to unzip on another PC? If it won't unzip the cpu is bad.

Uh, No. It could be a lot of things. To name a few:

Defective Data Cable.
Hard drive going out.
Memory Defective.
Defective Motherboard.

A defective CPU would be very low on my list of probablities.
