Hey can someone give me a brief explanation of what it means when you boot your computer and it says "One of your disk needs to be checked for consistancy". Sometimes it does this after I change a partition. THanks

I think its just doing a basic check on your hard drive to make sure things are alright from doing a power off without restarting, etc. Are you running windows 98?

No, I'm running Xp, but the same thing happened in windows 2000. It doesn't pose a problem for me, but I was just wondering what it was all about, and if there was anything more than what you mentioned. Thanks.
