Checking up on Intel DP965LT memory

Hi everyone. Please forgive me if this has been asked before, the search feature on this website never seems to return any results for me. Google returns mostly retail sites with no actual information.

I plan on picking up an Intel DP965LT as soon as I order my Conroe (no plans for overclocking). Originally I was going to get some Corsair ValueSelect, but Newegg jacked up the price. I looked around a bit and found some OCZ for $20 less and some G.Skill DDR2 800 for $11.50 less. There doesn't seem much point in the Corsair anymore. Unfortunately, the Newegg reviews for the OCZ mention compatibility problems. I've heard similar things about the G.Skill, and Newegg lists it as 1.9-2.0V where supposedly the motherboard only takes 1.8V.

If anyone has some first hand information of what works and what doesn't, it would be much appreciated :).

Yeah I saw that...but look at the post times. I was first :\. Most of the problems with this board don't apply to me so I'm not worried about it. Is 0.1V really going to make a difference? The OCZ is 1.9V but it's only at 667.

If I decide to get the Intel 965lt im not going to risk it. Ive been trying to find specific info but people seem to be focused on the asus and gigabyte. If i find someone who has the same ram or someone with a ram that is 1.9 volts ill let you know

I ordered that board and the Corsair ValueSelect that you passed on. I'll let you know how it works out, if I remember to.

Sorry to push this. I've been holding off on a new computer for the newest and greatest for a year now and I'm getting really impatient. There is the MSI P965 Neo-F available to me right now as well, but there's not a whole lot on it out there. Their website states
? Supports 4 unbuffered DIMM of 1.8 Volt DDR2 SDRAM
? Supports up to 8GB memory size (with DDR2 800, memory only up to 2GB)
? Support Dual Channel DDR2 533/677/800MHz and up
Due to the High Performance Memory design, motherboards or system configurations may or may not operate smoothly at the JEDEC (Joint Electron Device Engineering Council) standard settings (BIOS Default on the motherboard) such as DDR2 voltage, memory speeds and memory timing. Please confirm and adjust your memory setting in the BIOS accordingly for better system stability.
Example: Kingston HyperX DDR2-800 PC6400 operates at 2.0V, 4-4-4-12.
For more information about specification of high performance memory modules, please check with your Memory Manufactures for more details.
I take it this is the same problem, but they at least hint that there is a workaround. I'm so torn on what to do for a motherboard :(.

I hear ya man, I'm in the same boat. I tried to research but the simple truth is that there's just not enough info right now. You either have to wait a little longer, or take the plunge like me and try something out.

This is really pissing me off. Now I can't spend the last week of summer break with my build.
