Checking RAM speed

Is there software that will tell me what type of RAM (Brand) and speed I have in my system. I'd rather do it through software and then delete it than to have to crack open my system with the millions of wires going in and out.

I'd like to check to make sure not to get anything incompatible since I see all these hot RAM deals right now. Thanks

It should tell you during POST or in the BIOS. You could also use CPU-Z for more detailed info. It should tell you the manf. of the chips but not who actually made the ram.
