Im sure its already said but it all depends on the airport and where your flying.
Some airports like newark NJ and Seattle are kinda slow IME and airports like BWI and CVG go really quick..... If its a international destination then i would rec going like 2:30 early from my exp......

That's my rule too. Never failed me in 16 flights since 9/11, although I was close once at the Rochester airport.

If you're not checking your bags, it much easier. Enter the airport and go through security. Get your boarding pass at the gate instead of the front desk which is usually much more crowded. Some have quick check-in computers now as well (if not checking bags). Save lots of time b/c no waiting in lines at the front desks.

That's good if you can do it but a lot of airports require you to have a boarding pass to get through security.

I usually arrive about an hour before, domestic and international. But I get to use the first/business class counters because of my frequent flier miles;)

Well, the trip was smooth, with minimal security hassle. Won $120.00 in the pool for guessing what minute of the hour we would conclude business and also won a TI-83+ calculator in a raffle. :)
