Would ya'll mind telling me exactly how to strip (i know how to rip the case off PII's) and determine the core speed on the chip? Im just curious. Seems the 600 i have does 666mghz stable, but thats just fsb tweaking.

Is there ways to tell the core by the stepping/on the case?

You remove the outer casing. You can find out on tomshardware.com This is pretty easy though. Just use a nice screwdriver and to get the heatplate off, all you need is smoe sturdy needle nose pliers.

It just depends how careful/lucky you are. Some people have better luck by putting the chip in a plastic bag in the freezer for about 1 hr before trying to remove the case. The metal pins shrink more than the plastic case making it easies to remove the case. To see the core ya got to remove the heatplate, which is held on by clips, then remove the thermal goop, and the speed of the core is obvious. BUT, the core speed is not normally the limiting factor in the Athlon it's the speed of the cache chips. Some fast cores are matched with slower cache at a given speed.

but cant i use the cache divider proggy to reduce the cach speed? Not much of an overclocker as you can see :)

I was hoping to OC it to somewhere around 900 or so with a GFD. Any thoughts on this?
