Hey guys, i'm looking for some last minute input concerning the rig i'm planning on putting together. I've done tons of reading, my goal is to put together a decent gaming/all-around computer whilst keeping the total cost in check and of course maximzing bang for the buck. i'm thinking of doing some light overclocking BTW.

here's what i'm thinking of:
INTEL Core 2 Duo "Allendale" E6300 (2x 1.86GHz), 266MHz FSB, 2MB Cache, Sockel 775
ASUS P5B Deluxe, Intel P965
CRUCIAL Ballistix BL2KIT12864AA663, 2048MB, PC2-667, CL3-3-3-12
eVGA e-GeForce 7900GS CO 256MB, copper fan, Dual DVI, 256-P2-E622-AR
SAMSUNG SpinPoint P120 SATA II (SP2504C), 250GB, Bulk
SEA SONIC S12-500, 500 Watt (SS-500HT)
COOLERMASTER CAC-T05 Centurion 5
LG ELECTRONICS GSA-H10N, DVD±RW/RAM, Schwarz, Bulk

I'm not including any links as i'll be ordering from switzerland.

Anything I should change? I'm not willing to spend any more unless it would really make a big difference.

Thanks
Al

Its very close to what I just recommended to someone else recently.
Looks like your're on your way to getting a very sound build, but IMO mostly.
My video editing build with O/S was $1300

the 1900xt is way more expensive, otherwise i'd get it, and as far as i'm informed 4GB is slight overkill right now. i'm really trying to keep the total cost about as high as it is now. one possibility I was thinking of is this:

picking one of these:

CORSAIR TWIN2X2048-6400, 2048MB, PC2-800, CL5-5-5-12-T1
CORSAIR TWIN2X2048-5400C4, 2048MB, PC2-667, CL4-4-4-12
CRUCIAL Ballistix Tracer BL2KIT12864AL664, 2048MB, PC2-667, CL4-4-4-10

instead of this
CRUCIAL Ballistix BL2KIT12864AA663, 2048MB, PC2-667, CL3-3-3-12

the price is about the same...what's the way to go taking into account that I wanna do some overcklocking? low latency DDR2-667 or higher latency DDR2-800?

4GB is not an overkill with vista already out, atleast RC2.
games like alan wake etc will make use of atleast >2GB RAM or even 4GB RAM from what I infer, so no harm being prepared for games 3 months down the line.

I have had very good luck with CORSAIR TWIN2X2048-6400, 2048MB, PC2-800, CL5-5-5-12-T1 so far no problems with OC on my signature set up right now 3,0ghz

Bang for the buck and Seasonic S12 in the same post!!! Yea, Seasonic is high quality but expensive. Enhance 500W ENP 80+ for $70 at ewiz.
