Checkin in a hotel

I am gonna be traveling soon and if I check in like an hour or two before checkin time...do i get charged for 2 full days?

No. Getting a room ahead of check-in depends on whether a room is ready for you to occupy. Most decent hotels should accomodate you assuming you're not too early.

RavnShield2, if they do not have a room available for you to check into at the time of your arrival, just ask them to store your luggage for you and go out and see some sights or have a meal. They will gladly accomodate you.

I'm starting to develop a theory that ATOT is replacing "asking your parents" as the source for common-sense stuff that you'd be too embarrassed to ask someone else IRL.
