Checkdisk completes but wont boot into OS anymore

I installed System mechanic 7 (the trial version) and ran the Auto Tool which amongst other things, performs a diskcheck for errors. upon booting. I am using a small 36GB Raptor where I have my OS (Vista) and I have another two 250GB each Hitachi Deskstars in a RAID ) configuration.

Checkdisk will complete checking the Raptor, then reboot properly. But on the following reboot checkdisk performs the next scan on my two Deskstars, only to "stop" once checkdisk completes. No reboot, no nothing, so I have reboot by hitting the Reset button on my PC. What happens next is, checkdisk begins a new vicious cycle by performing a check on the Raptor, will reboot to perform a check on the Deskstars and then again will hang.

My system specs:

AMD 64 3500+ @ 2.6GHz . DFI LP NF4 SLI-D . 7800GTX . 1GB Corsair XMS 2.5-3-3-6 1T . 1x36GB Raptor . 2x250 Hitachi Deskstar RAID0 - Vista Ultimate

Bipedal,

Welcome to the forum!

Can you change the System Mechanic settings to stop it from doing a checkdisk? If so, maybe Windows checkdisk would work properly. If not, I believe I'd consider uninstalling System mechanic - I had problems with v.7 too and took it off my rig...

Or, stop Windows checkdisk from running on startup.
