If you bought anything from Bestbuy.com, you'd better keep an eye on your credit card statements...

It's been over 2 months since my last purchase at that site, and I've been double charged and quadruple charged for some orders. I called their customer service department, and got them to correct the double and quadruple charges, but just the other day, I looked at my CC statement, and a mysterious $12.92 charge showed up on it.

I called customer service and asked them about it and they said it was from a previous order. One that they quadruple charged me on. I explained to them that I had a problem with this order before, and that it's all been sorted out and that I should not be charged this extra $12.92.

Here comes the good part. The CSR said that their system was having problems with overcharging credit cards and it's all been fixed now. Now the system periodically goes through all its transaction records and tries to fix any outstanding charges..

My last purchase was 2 months ago and now they think they undercharged me?

Anyways, I called my CC company to dispute it and they instantly gave me the credit to my account. Not a temporary credit. They wiped the $12.92 charge from my account. No filing any paperwork or requiring any additional proof that Bestbuy.com was wrong.. It was all too easy, so I suspect that the CC company has been getting a lot of disputes with Bestbuy.com charges.

Check your CC statements.

I should check over my statements again real close. Last month I had a charger on my card from Best Buy for an item I ordered in November. I went through all of my charges in those 3 months and I only found that I was charged the one time for it.

Not a HOT DEALS. Anyway, to legally cover yourself you should also write a letter disputing that or any other incorrect CC charge.

Actually I check mine every week. This is why when I noticed the charge I went back to see if I was charged before.

This has also happened to me. I was charged for the same purchase twice. I called them and complained. They have now credited it back twice. I check my credit cards statements online every morning. Good luck to everyone.

good post IMO
I think getting 1/4 of the price that they tried to charge him is a hot deal. or, you could just argue that the poster is being nice for free (unlike thread crappers) and that is also a hot deal. it's about saving money, peace.

Bestbuy.com's system is pretty screwed up..

I $12.92 charge was for a DVD I had ordered. My order had 3 DVD's for a total of around $38.xx. I received them all in one box and got charged twice on my CC for $77.xx

They fixed it, but now they say that they originally only charged me $26.xx for 2 DVDs that shipped, and $12.92 for the third DVD that shipped later. ?!?!?!

They show no record of the extra charges and what I had to do to fix them. I know I'm right because I had to call them to get the charges corrected to what they were supposed to be in the first place, which was $38.xx

I'm going to complain to the BBB.

Yup, noticed some recent bestbuy.com activity on my Discover card. I had done that deal way back in early December for the Dysan 10 pack CDR for $1.99 plus tax, free shipping. Well, they charged me for 4 packs instead of 3. I just received a $2.15 credit on my card, plus they mailed me a $10 gift card for my inconvenience, no expiration date and valid at any Bestbuy B&M store. I didn't even have to contact them a single time.

There's been a lot of weird CC activity going on recently, and all stem from Internet retailers. For example, I just received an email the other day from Bibliofind.com (a portal to locating hard-to-find books) about how their system was compromised, similar to Egghead.com's security problem. I guess I'll have to cancel this credit card too... dang.

Bumping up so that others can see.

I think this is important, since it seems that other people are also getting double charges on their credit cards as well.
