She should have sued for 145 million dollars. Those bastards need to lose their jobs :|

Wow, that's horrible. I can't believe any officer would view a person with such disabilities as a threat. :|

Oregon is fvcking nuts. My half-sisters cousin was just shot and killed at a bus station last month. I think his name was markus.

Man, if the cops did something like that to me or my moms, they better be lookin out the window before they open the door to go to work from then on. One day they'd open the door and get a face full of BOOM.
Dirty cops anyways. :|

I'd be interested in seeing the actual news report on the incident, not an editorial. Until we read an actual news posting, I'm going to remain very skeptical as to the chain of events that surrounded that incident.

Good old Portland police. Protect and serve indeed. That's disgusting. If that was my mom, someone would die... It might take a while but they'd die all the same. In the most painful maner I could figure out as well.

Anyone can be dangerous; a person on crutches can be dangerous. It doesn't make it likely, but it is possible. I'd like to see an actual news report before I make judgements.

So it sounds as though they restrained her? If someone's kicking and biting me you can count on me using necessary force.

Not sure where the "knocking her onto the ground" part came into play, though, did they hit her and knock her down?

Heres a serious question for everyone.
Lets assume you are this lady's neighbor. Your out doin lawn stuff when all this takes place.... What do you do?
You cant interfere, or you go to jail. On the other hand, could you sit by and watch as officers essentially beat the hell out of some poor old lady who simply wants her family heirloom back?
Tough call there eh?

I'm curious as to what the neighbors said as well, if there were any. If this were going on, I would probably call 911 anyway and report the situation, grab my video camera (that I keep charged and hanging off the back of my door, :roll;) and make myself available to testify on the woman's behalf. No way in hell I'd get physically involved in an altercation of this matter.

from the article

"When Portland Officers Robert Miller and Eric Zajac arrived at the house, Crowder acknowledged she had one foot on the curb and one foot on the bumper of the trailer. She felt someone step on her foot and asked, "Who are you?"

Moments later, she felt someone strike her in the head, which dislodged her prosthetic right eye from its socket, and was knocked to the ground"

Officers said Crowder ignored their commands not to climb into the trailer and tried to bite Miller's hand

No crap! she ignored the commonds. she is DEAF! someone who she asked who it was and didnt get/hear the answere is grabbing her i would try to fight back also.

You can tell the cops "hey they're blind and partially deaf". If they proceed to rough you up you also sue.

all you could really do is grab a camcorder/camera and go watch. Of course testify on what you seen.
