man that must be an old truck. That would be a what 1975? Think they have been #1 since 77.

Very good marketing. He didn't talk much about the engine or transmission, though:p

..I've owned one new Ford truck and we use to use em at work..they trash out in 3 years or less and become maintenance junkies. In fleet purchases they are cheaper but you get what you pay for. If your going to get a Ford truck..lease it and get rid of it in 3 years.

the 4.6L they put in them has no balls. Why do they even bother with a 4.2L V6.

As much as I like the rest of the truck, the engines seem pretty far behind dodge and nissan.

Yeah, definately a marketing thing. Selective things were sure left out. I'd really like to see an independent study like this of ford, chevy and dodge. Nissan and Toyota are not real trucks.

They should compare the real trucks, diesels, namely the Dodge Cummins 600, the Ford Power Stroke Diesel 6.0, and the GM Duramax Diesel 6600.

I really like the new Ford '05 Superduty, I myself would take an F-250 CrewCab 4x4 with a diesel, and the 162in wheelbase.

hehe this is way over the top dramatic style....but, i would have a ford anyday.

infact i do have a ford.....its ford Ka, its second hand, has nearly 65,000miles on it....and there isnt one squeak, rattle, no broken parts, everything still worlks, engines in very good nick, and it handles like a flippin go kart lol.

i cant comment on american fords, but the european fords are damn well built, very refined, very stlish, fast, handle great.....and i dont think ive ever been in a diesel as quiet as the ford mondeo.

IIRC, cummins engines, allison trannies, and Ford chassis are the best of their respective classes.

Yeah, I'm sure it handles well . Aside from that, they don't compare it against GM's Quadrasteer.

Good marketing though, some of the videos were interesting.

Gm's quadrasteer is nice, but its gone after this year. Not compaaringit becuase maybe it doesn't have 4 wheel steerign perhpaps? Apples to oranges.

Each one of them have their downsides. All of them suck gas like there isnt a tomorrow. My ram gets 14 mpg no matter what. If i tow a big ass boat or anything behind it or just drive it down the road...

Haha, while I wont say it is all BS he is presenting there, but it certainly is far from scientific and truthful comparison.

Mostly he is going on abouit size differences thickness bulkier built. That doesnt mean that much without, metallographic crosssection to examine the material, without hardness and/or tensile tests. It could mean that the Fords are alot stronger but it could also mean Ford is using cheaper steel.

Or the oil filter: it could mean the filter is capable of better filtering it could also mean the filters used on the other truck are different in their internal design or it could also mean the Ford engines are built cheaper (for lack of a better wird) generating more metal particles to be filtered.

Or the cooling system: engines are cooled by water, the airr doesnt need to flow in a special way around the engine by having some special shape fan shroud. It might make the fan slightly more efficient though but I dont htink that is too important. Having more water could just mean Fords engine has cooling issues, it will take longer to get to operating temperature and therefore will produce more wear and gas consumption especially in winter - hence the need for the bigger oil filter ;)

no dispute about the brakes though - Fords is the best solution, but also the most expensive

Well or it could all be true and Fords pickups are just the best - however the presentation in the movies is not sufficient to prove that.

A tree was in the middle of the trail, so he hooked to it with a log chain (brand new, never used). There was a big crunch sound when he hit it, and the tree was still where it lay, attached was the chain and bumper!

Since he didn't have a bumper anymore, one of the F250s hooked to the tree and pulled it away...

Ford still and always will make a superior truck. (I like Chevy too...)

isn't the f250 vs the ram 1500 an unfair comparison?

altho, it should make a difference about the bumper of course. but the f250 is overall a sturdier vehicle than the f150 right?

The Ford Focus built in Germany was awarded the car with the least problems by ADAC (their automotive club I think) - based on models three years old (this happened in 2003 or 2004 I think)

the roller bearings bit is definately a good one, roller bearings are much better at withstanding load than normal ball bearings....but then again he only compared it to the Tundra.

selective comparison is blindingly obvious in this video....but from what i saw of the inside of the ford. i thought it was pretty good. at the end of the day it is a well built truck, for the most part slightly better than most, but then im sure it has areas where the competition are much better

No, an idiot with a ram is an unfair comparison. don't blame the truck for the driver's stupidity. who hooks a chain to the bumper?? that's why there are such things as hitches and tow hooks.

About driveline - I don't think having more coolant is much better, if you have a big enough radiator. And I don't really think the bigger shoud around the fan is so much an advantage (if at all). At summer the coolant will heat itself fast enough, no matter if it is 12 quarts or 20 quarts.
Also, I think tundra's ring gear for the rear differential is in correct proportion compared to Ford's, and a bigger differential decrease the road clearance

They're all good trucks. Personally I'd rather have a 1988 F150 for $2,500 than a 2005 F150 for $25,000. It's a TRUCK, why should it be nice when I'm taking it camping or hauling stuff?

I like tailgate assist, it's a good idea for everyone. If you would have a manual opening garage door, you certainly would be glad for every spring and counterweight there is to ease opening

A bigger differential means it is stronger, which is a good thing. I have a Ford 8.8 rear axle in the back of my Jeep and even though it is phsyically larger than the one it replaced, I'd much rather have it than stock.

Or they are contractors who need a real truck that can take a beating day in and day out. The F-150, 250 and up are great workhorses and most of the people I know with them are laborers. Maybe it's our demographics speaking here, but you seem to refer more to the urban truckers. For workers though, Ford trucks > trendy trucks.
