If you have had that philips/HP 4020/6020i freaking CD recorder and participated in the class action suit, your patience is finally paid off!

Today, an UPS guy dropped a package. Since I didn't expect anything and there was no mark at all outside of the box (they sent it without any packing except original carton!) , I could've almost refuse to take it. Only thing you can find is a short notification about warranty mentioning the suit INSIDE the box.

This is what you will get.
Philips CDRW 800 Series
Not a top of the line, but quite decent considering that it's free (oh well not really, that old CDR demaged so many blanks...) and the original 4020/6020 was just x2 recorder! (not to mention no RW capacity)

It's quite fast resolution. Toshiba notebook class action took much more time than this one.

Anyway, don't refuse to receive even if you get a strange package and enjoy your new CD-RW!

PS: Uh... just wondering... is this message suitable for this forum? If not please lock it up, Sorry!

I was part of that law suit but I received a coupon for a $200 rebate off of the purchase of any Phillips or Magnavox item (I've been looking for a good deal or coupons for some place that carries the Phillips 32" TV Model TS3260C so that I can use the coupon. Any Ideas?). Did you receive a coupon certificate also?

zorgon Huh? No.... I don't remember correctly, but was there a choice to get a new cdr or equivalent amount coupon when we were signing up? I guess so.

Crazy The class action notification was all around back in last year. (magazines, websites, etc.) There is a law firm site who are taking care of this suit, but I think the link is dead now. I'm not sure it's still valid.

I got in on this but have not received anything yet! I will take either of them, the coupon or the CDRW! Did you receive any e-mails on it before the package arrived?

I remembered after I posted last night about the questionaire I had received last year asking if I wanted a replacement or a coupon. I chose the coupon because I had long since replaced the drive. The coupon is good for up to $200 or 80% (Whichever is lower - EX. buy $250+ of merchandise to get $200 back) off of any Philips product. There is space on the form to put in two purchases to get you up to the $200 rebate amount. Now I'm just looking for a deal to use the coupon. ;)
