They have until mid day tomorrow for me. It was my understanding the retail processors wouldn't be shipping until the 7th. However, the OEMs if you can find one are shipping. What bothers me the most just like every one else I was told they'd get in a shipment the next day. Counting out the weekend, and today that "next day" was two days ago. Never mind the fact if I have to wait until the 7th I might as well go with some one else. Why would I want to buy more for an OEM when a some sites have retail for cheaper.

OEM TD E6700 599.99 Monarch E6700 568.99

Too bad they already shipped the heatsink which I won't ever use, and can't return for a refund.

if you guys don't mind paying top dollars , mwave has e6400 in stock right now. (checked with rep)

of course, if they dont want to ship it until 7th, you can go there and pick it up if you live in SoCal.

Since you asked for updates, my E6400 was waiting for me on my front porch when I got home from work this afternoon. Now all I need is my MB, memory, and 7900GT I ordered from Newegg, which should arrive in a day or two, depending on if FedEx can get it to me a day early from the original estimated date like they usually do.

I cancelled my order just a few minutes ago. Guy wasn't very nice on the phone. They still have a big whopping charge on my card which better come off damn soon.

Update: Get this I ordered a heatsink /w the processor because of their little clause. Thinking I would get back some of the packing/handling fee because of canceling. Guess what? Nope. I pay 24.99 for the heatsink, and 19.99 for P/H!!!

Let me know how the refund goes. I cancelled my order as well on Friday, and I have a big charge sitting there still from the e6600. I've talked to them numerous times. One person said 24-48 hours of business days, another said 3-5 business days before the refund goes through. I'm really unimpressed with their service.

I'm glad I payed with paypal though, so if they pull any bs, hopefully a paypal claim will get the money back.

Well, here's what I just got from an online chat with a rep. Excuse the anger. I'm Josh, he's Alex. Personal details edited out like my last name and order number. I'm going to call my bank today and see what they say. I've never been told about these "holds" by the last 3 reps.

Please wait while we find an agent to assist you...
You have been connected to Alex .
Alex : Thank you for contacting TigerDirect.com. How may I assist you?

Joshua: Hello, my order number was *********. I cancelled this order on Friday and I still haven't been refunded. Not only that, but I've talked to 3 different representatives, and gotten 3 different answers as to when I'd get the refund.

Joshua: I'm getting a bit upset, as these transfers should be instant. You took the money out instantly from paypal, and it should be put back as quick.

Alex : Holds on your Paypal account take a few days to be released. It wouldn't be an actual refund, since we never got to charge you. We don't charge unless an item ships.

Alex : What you show there as a "charge" is actually a hold on funds, which we didn't collect. Holds take a few days to be released and we have no way to expedite that.

Joshua: Alright, well when should I expect this hold to be released then? And is this in the process of being completed?

Alex : Once an order that hasn't yet shipped is cancelled, the process of completion automatically begins. Release times on holds vary, depending on the bank you're using. To get a better idea of when the hold is to be released, we suggest contacting the bank you have linked up to your Paypal account.

Alex : We'd like to take this opportunity to thank you for your business, and for this opportunity to assist you.

Have a great day, and thanks for shopping with TigerDirect.com!

It sounds like the most honest answer I've gotten so far, as I've seen the word hold pop up in my online accounts a few times before dealing with online merchants. I hope this is the case and we'll see our money soon.

The debit is still showing as "pending" on my bank account. BTW, did you go through the RMA thing with your account on-line? I went in to my account, and choose "changed mind". Now it says under my cancelled order "Authorized For Return".

I cancelled it over the phone. At that point, the cpu was still backordered, so they hadn't shipped anything to return.

I just talked with Tiger Direct through their online chat client, and was informed that it's 10-14 days of backorder on the E6600, and presumably the rest of their C2D line (!). Needless to say, I'm now headed elsewhere, especially since they've completely ignored my email requests for almost a full week.

This seems to be an alarming trend... I'm beginning to think there might not be any retail channel available until well past the August 7th date that's been touted about.

They'll be there on 8/7 from other suppliers. TD jumped the gun and likely oversold their first wave of supply.

TD has among the worst reseller ratings out there. I would have never trusted them.

I'm willing to bet that Newegg will have lots of product on 8/7 and they ship from stock. I just don't know if they'll be competitive.

Funny thing is you can still, place an order at tiger direct. Doesen't say that they are on backorder, just says ships with in 7-10 days.

I'm gonna cancel my order.

If they would have been upfront with me, I might have kept the order. But I have heard soo many differnt things from them. I will get my E6600 from a local retailer.

TD confirmed my invoice is now for only the heatsink. The amount pending to my account just to secure the funds. However, that amount will not be removed but the amount for the heatsink with shipping & handling. Now I'm just waiting to see if this pans out to be true. I did receive three quick e-mail responses today.

lol, I hope it's not a gaming rig.

I need a good price and guarenteed delivery, people seem to recommend ZZF a lot.
