RE: Gigabyte board, I haven't read the ENTIRE thread as it's far too long but it seems 2MB L2 C2Ds (6300 and 6400) clock far higher FSB wise than the 4MB L2 models (6600 and up).
 
Keys bottom line clock for clock C2D beats X2 by 15-20% in just about every game with equal VGA...So I'm due too.
 
Hopefully the Ebay whores will get burned. They should have limited qty to 1. At least it would have helped establish a competitive market price that other retailers like Screwegg would have to compete with.

Wow Zebo! Haven't seen you in a while 🙂

Those prices are very nice, TankGuys is charging $350 for the E6600 and they usually have very low prices, not to mention Mwave who are charging $425.

I just hope they don't run out for real, since my order was entered a little earlier at $219.00 plus $1.99 to get it here sooner. Way too much time spent hunting down available chips. Bad enough I had to find another P5W DH Deluxe yesterday when my first order turned out to be out of stock instead of the 2 they still had showing.

With luck, maybe next week it'll all come together...



 
just ordered a e6600 for 359.99 from tigerdirect ...spoke w/Felix and he said they are receiving shipment tomorrow and my order was included in that. He said I should receive it on August 1st.
 
So, I'm curious: I ordered an E6600 off of TD a couple of hours ago, when I saw the link on the other thread that circumvented the "ZOMG, wait till 3:00 and your life will change forever!!" nonsense (speaking of which, it's 3:30, and that page is still up, and doesn't point you to the links that have been available since late this morning...). Eraser, when did you order yours, and when did you talk to Felix? Do you think that that first order is going to make it to those of us who order today?

So do the Core 2 Duos plan on being shipped by August 1st?

The reason I ask, is I was planning on getting an OEM 6400 from Tiger Direct, but my video card from New Egg won't be available until the 1st. So I was going to wait until then to order. But if I order an OEM 6400 from TG today, and Ill get it on the first, then I will do that.

i ordered @ like 3:03 est....
so if you ordered earlier then I say your ahead of me and should also be receiving it around the same time depending your order time.

I just called TigerDirect, and the lady politely said "No, the E6600 is sold out." "No, I don't have a date for the next shipment."
