Nope, I saw the e6600 in stock, and now it is not. And the price people see intel listed on the various sites are the MSRP!
Intel does not make public how much they sell their CPU's to retailers for( so newegg doesnt know how much dell pays and vice a versa) Each retailer get their own price. Also, these chips are sold to retailers on credit, and their price is also based on how fast they can pay (typicially a discount within 10 days, must pay the rest within 30).
Anytime you see prices listed, it is the MSRP, especially in this case, because I have seen charts showing that it is the MSRP. Often times you see prices on newegg below Intel's listing price, this is how it is possible.
Other arrangments can be made with retailers, where the goods\chips are out on consignment, and even though the chips are physically at newegg, newegg does not own them until they are sold, and can return them to intel at anytime.
