*edit*
it seems that People Can Fly actually made this game to be more mindless fun than anything else - look at the "News" section on the webpage, and notice that the comments all lean towards that conclusion - a first person shooter, and nothing else. not that I would enjoy such a thing, but to each his own, right?

Hmmm, I don't remember being able to nail people to a wall with a nail gun in Quake, but you can sure do it with a stake gun in this "crappy" game.

Uninteresting? No. Fun? Yes!

And unless your running a GeForce MX card the graphics are pretty damn good for this type of game.

Man, I'm suprised a lot of people hate this game (or just think its boring). This game is going to move FPS games back in the direction of being fun. Lots of awesome things you can do. Yesterday, I corpse juggled myself over an enemy. If you want to see how this works, I made a movie using FRAPS and have it on my other pc at home. It is 2MB but I don't have anywhere to host it.

Basically, you leap over a corpse and fire down using killer. This pulls the corpse up off the ground and throws you higher into the air, keep doing it and you keep going up. It is similar to hostage jumping in CS but a lot harder.

Ah well, you can't please everyone but me and my friends are deff psyched about this one. Been reading about it for awhile now. After playing it, I am even more psyched.

Anyone else try corpse juggling or any other juggling. Also, anyone tried bunny hopping with pain right into an enemy? Hehe.

I got bored with it half way through the second level. The fact that you have to kill EVERY enemy before proceeding to the next level is annoying, plus you can't save up the "powered up" mode you get when you hit 50 souls collected, turned me off to it. I had the one courtyard cleared for what seemed like 15 minutes before I could leave, because I was trying to get those damn knights who were up above me. The stake gun is kind of cool, but the nail gun thingy was kind of pointless, I only used it on alt-fire to kill groups of knights when they were on the same level as me.

I hear everyone saying this is like the "glory days" of FPS with Doom and such, but I can't remember ever being bored by Doom.

Boring weapons? You can fire a grenade and then fire a stake through your grenade in mid air for a combo. You can fire the shaft and then fire the primary spike and it fires a charged spike that explodes causing a chain lightning reaction. You can juggle corpses, or ride them into the air using killer. You can dice enemies in mid air using pain.

Boring levels? I still can't find half the stuff on the castle level. I also love when half the level explodes in 1 room, sending cielings crumbling and pillars falling.

Boring enemies? I don't think they've really shown many yet, but I liked the banshees, the dudes with the big guts, and the boss -- They all have some pretty unique skills. Also the wizard guy has some cool force field that throws you back if you get too close.

This is going to be a game that goes beyond face value and beyond the first 15 seconds. You need skill and wit to realize what is given to you.

After downloading and playing this, I've just got to say ":Q"

Firstly, excellent use of gore.
Secondly, that engine's got some serious potential. With everything maxed except the AA, my lowly XP 1.2GHz/512/gF4MX ran it smooth as butter ... for the first level. The second one was an unplayable slideshow. Methinks they still need to work on their level optimization. But damn, does that "Town" level look sweet.
And thirdly - *yank with Killer, air juggle with Pain until coin drops, nail skyward with Stake* - this game is frickin' fun. :D
