Check out this music I made

Every Sunday night, I meet up with a bunch of other christian peeps for a casual hang out. There's this girl there that would always come up to me and talk to me, sit down next to me, and just be downright friendly. Well, we've begun to have an interesting relationship with lots of weird things in common, down to the fact that she has the same first name as the girl that I grew up with that lived next door and almost the same last name as the kid I grew up with that lived one house further down.

We're both musicians, and she's been trying to find someone to produce songs for her. She has an amazing voice, did really well at some Nashville Star thing in nashville, tn, and she's actually pretty damn hot too.

I don't know where things are going, but we did decide we should start working together on music. We through out a couple songs that we both like, and I said I would make the songs if she would sing on them.

Well.. I'm almost done with the first one, so I figured I would post it for some mixing criticism. I still have some editing to do, etc. but for the most part, its done.

EDIT: I'm starting to think its too heavy in the low end.. But I'm using top of the line headphones and it sounds good like that..

As for the music, I think it's pretty good. I would turn the volume of the drums down a touch, especially if someone is going to be singing to it.

You're like the 5th person I've shown that picture to and have responded with something to the effect of 'smashing' it.

thanks.. i'm thinking the entire low end is up a bit, and yea maybe the drums too. I won't fully master it until her vocals are in the mix though.

the first 10 seconds is totally sonic. trust me.. i thought that too.

To my ears (using headphones) The guitar is a little lost in the mix and the drums are a bit loud (or rather everything else is a little too soft?). During the rhythm part, the guitar bass notes and the bass are kind of competing, and during the melody and lead parts, the guitar is a little quiet, not quite coming through.

Overall, I thik its pretty good actually, maybe needs a little EQ on the instruments and a better mix, and like you say, you still have to mix the vocals in anyway...untll then? Nice Job

Like the others have said the drums may be a bit loud, especially when you put vocals over it. It would be best to wait until you've got her in there too and then balance everything out though. However, the music shows quite a bit of talent. Really good job so far.

the song 'serenade' was a big hit here on atot about two years ago.. its all instrumental and guitar heavy withmelody...

thanks! i fiddled with it a bit, but I'm not going to put too much time into mastering it until I have her voice in the mix. it changes everything.
