A few selections:

"I hope you'll be shot someday.. People like you shouldn't live (yes i mean it) May you burn up in hell, pigh4ter!"

"Congratulations. By breaking the 6th commandment you've earned your spot in hell. Luckily not all America is like this, fat kids with guns killing innocent beasts -- and allowing Satan to delude them into believing they are doing God's work. Today I pray for your soul."

"You've got a great career as a killer ahead of you! I hope that one day soon, you'll decide to kill your father & then youself."

Nothing wrong with being pissed about the slaying of the pig, but to call him a "dumb fat redneck" and wish the kid dead is just wrong.

What do expect from some stupid ass libs that never set foot outside of a city.

Yea, hunting is just a way of life for some families in the south. Anybody on a legal boar hunt regardless of age would have done the same as this kid did. Trophy Boar!

Either way, that's a load of sausage!

The animal has been around for a long time, he survived a long time without any harm to it. You don't see animals reach sizes like that. Doesn't matter the species, when something is truly large in size, and has managed to survive for a long time, I say, "let it go" 'Leave it alone."

What do you mean by "a long time"? A hog can grow to 800 pounds in a year. The pork you eat in the grocery stores is from a pig that's only about 6 months old.

Would it be fair to assume that hog was around for awhile? Who knows, I shouldn't assume that anyway. I do wonder what the age of that hog is? Usually, and I am just going by past stories, when an animal reaches a huge size, it usually means they have survived long enough to make it to that size. If that is the case, and he is young, who is to say, my mistake. Then he has some big mofo parents! :p

Wild hogs aren't rare. They are a nusiance. A hog that big is uncommon. They are aggressive and not to be approached. They have some really big tusks and know how to use them.

They aren't native to America. If they were in a national park, they'd be exterminated.

I can't think of a predator that would keep the boars in check other than hunters. So I wouldn't assume that the boar had been around a long time. It would be relatively safe to eat well and grow that large.

:Q Looks like it makes a lot more sense that Robert Baratheon would get killed by one of those while on a hunt after all.

Person 1: "What an amazing specimen of nature!"

Person 2: "Bet you I kill it first."

The only thing stopping me from being mad about this is that I doubt if it's true.

It brings a warm feeling to my heart that the hog is no longer a "specimen of nature," but is now a whole lot of pork in someones freezer. I, for one, hope that the story is true (well, it is obviously a dead pig, regardless of size, which is something to be proud of).

What kind of 6th grader carries and shoots a .50 cal gun??

As for this hog... i'm skeptical until a more reliable source comes out. I know hogs are extraordinary, in that simply months after a pig goes out into the wild and becomes feral, their fur becomes much more brisk, and they all of a sudden grow tusks... it's almost like an evolutionary change, but in weeks/months rather than millions of years!

And i'm sad to see this thing dead. One of the wonders of the world i think, and a 6th grader and his parents thought it would be a remarkable achievement for him to shoot it down.

The vast majority of sixth graders around here would love to be given the opportunity to shoot the awesome and magnificent .500 S&W, and some do.

The big boar was hunted inside a large, low-fence enclosure and fired upon 16 times by Stone, who struck the animal nearly a half-dozen times during the three-hour hunt.

3 hour "hunt"? "Nearly" half a dozen? Geez :(
