Check out this guy's scratch built case

Wow. I looked at this back in July, and while I thought his craftsmanship and creativity were top-notch, I didn't think much of the case.

Now that it has the wood side panels, this thing looks AWESOME. One of the best I've seen in a long time.

I've been checking it out every weekend since i started this thread to post shots of the completed build.

I bookmarked that thread on 4 different PC's after you posted this thread and watched and waited the entire time...the results are a work of art!

This case does rocks.

I love hand built cases, and you can tell he took a lot of time and measurements to make this case from scratch.

This is definitely one of the nicest ive seen. However there was one where the guy even built his own waterblocks.

And the thing was, all the water blocks was 1 BIG block.
So he had 2 gpu's board and CPU under 1 enormous block.

That was a total jaw dropper, the only bad side was the block were made from ALU.

If you read the thread which is pretty long the amount of work the guy put in to
building the case is very apparent. Meticulous comes to mind

That looks nice! I'm toying with the idea of making wood server cases but nothing this impressive. Would basically be a rectangle box with a few latches to open/close the case and be painted black and have some air flow ducts and such. I'd probably even cheat and try to find a metal MB tray. The thing with wood you want really good air flow as it does not dissipate heat very well.

I can't wait to build my shop and get into this stuff.

Nice case, the aesthetic he went with was interesting and original. I actually liked the case more before he added the wood in the build log.

Wish people with this kind of imagination worked for LL, Thermaltake etc...

I usually don't care about stuff like modding and case building, but this is an amazing work of art. This is an example of what hard work, thought and taking your time can accomplish.
I would pay alot of money for something that nice and detailed.

I'm sure I couldn't do any better, but that is just plain ugly to me. I'm sure he worked very hard on it, and many seem to like it, but I wouldn't be lining up to get one, if they went into mass production.

Thermaltake has a case just like this case. It is stupid expensive.

i can respect the craftsmanship. i read a lot of the thread and he did that stuff with some pretty basic tools and all by hand. did not appear to be any kind of professional metal or woodworker. that's super awesome if so, imo, he's probably a smart fuckin' dude.

that said, functional aestetics turn me on. i liked it better when it was just an aluminum skeleton, though the finished product still looks fantastic.

also, whoever commented on dust, it shouldn't be that bad. seems to me that big open vents are a good thing, it's restriction that creates dust buildup. dust in, dust out. anyone who's run their case sideless for a while can attest that it doesn't accumlate much all that much.
