It depends. If you stick 7 9600GT's in there, then I don't see why a 1500W PSU couldn't handle it. But 7 watercooled 480s would probably need 3 3x120mm rads as well as about 3 1200W PSUs.

is there even a power supply that can handle that? D:

The case I have for the board has dual PSU mounts.
the main PSU drives the motherboard and 2 GPUs
the other can power 3-4 GPUs
the last ones can be powered by FSP GPU-only 5.25" bay PSUs

I sense a plan coming together...

Yup. I have the SuperMicro X8DTH-6F-O motherboard.
I have dual E5520 Xeons.
I have a Seasonic X750 for the motherboard, the CPUs, the RAID array, and 2 GPUs.
I will get an Antec TP Quattro 1200W PSU for powering another 4 graphics cards.
and I'll have 6 Galaxy Razor single-slot GPU's in there.

Why only six? because the first slot is blocked by my heatsink. :p

MARKFW. HERE I COME. (in a long time. I can't afford 6 GPUs right now)
