to make it more impressive looking, use two toothpicks instead of the quarter and glass. you can get the toothpicks to balance on their tips with the two forks hanging over one end.

as a kid we did a similar trick.

Instead of pushing 2 forks onto a coin, you push a fork & spoon together, then balance them on a toothpick on glass rim in same manner as in video. Then light the long end of the toothpick (the portion over the interior of the glass) on fire. It burns away leaving the utensils balanced on the glass rim on a tiny stub of toothpick.

i learned how to balance forks when i was in elementary school....from a book in the library...and im pretty sure the book was an old book...like from the 1950s....
