Haha, from the first look, it sorta reminded me of the Sennheiser Orpheus. Maybe it has a built in amp too! I s'ppose it's a tube amp.

Anyway, it either has an internal amp or they are just there for show.

The tubes are probably only in the output section; the part that drives the RCA level output from the CD player.
Dynaco also made a similar CD player a few years back...I think it's nice
