It must have had some insane power... He chirped his tires in 2nd and 3rd gear and white smoke came out the exhaust

Is the "Hemi" decal original? other than that sweet ride, that huge decal breaks up the great body lines of the car IMO..
Slower than a modern day WRX.
And giving you a million more man points.Yeah, but it makes up for that by getting horrible mileage.![]()
And giving you a million more man points.
And being more fun to drive.

If it gave you ANY man-points, it'd be more.
And a WRX is NOT faster than a freaking Hemi Cuda, even with the Cuda on that old rubber. Equalize things and let the Cuda take advantage of modern rubber and it's an even bigger gap. Not even close to begin with, actually.
If you have one of these Cudas, you'll have the satisfaction of knowing that not only is it worth more now than 2 brand new WRX's, it's worth more now, at 30+ years old, than any WRX will be worth at any point in the future as it ages. Assuming any are still around in 30 years.
I don't think it's stock, considering it chirped those massive tires in 3rd gear. By chirp I mean a long chirp, like chirrrrp

Faster than a WRX? Pfftt. Do people even remember the golden era of the Hemis? Apparently not. The 71 hemi Cuda was a BEAST. Hell, even a Chrysler Newport with the 440 Magnum could beat a modern fart-o-matic 4-banger.
A WRX is 4.7 seconds to 60. The Hemi Cuda is 5.8.
My STi was surely quicker than my uncle's 440 Charger.
Good video. If you put the power of that hemi on a modern chassis, suspension, tires, that could handle the torque, it would blow away a WRX, not to mention sound amazing. There is a reason Hemi's were banned from NASCAR. And at stock that car would spin the tires in all 4 gears. I know for a fact that a '70 Chevelle SS 454 does the same.
Keep in mind that ALL the big three were deliberately reporting the HP less than it actually was to try and keep insurance costs down
I remember seeing that. I remember feeling it too. My uncle took me for a ride in his '68 Mustang GT CJ with the 428. 335 HP my arse!
I still love Chevy's under-rating of the L88 in the Corvette. They rated the L71 at 435 horsepower and the L88 at "only" 430 to keep people who weren't going to be racing the car from ordering the L88.
