Although the HD-DVD is obviously better, I have a feeling that the first pic is out of focus.

When they started to load, I was prepared to be let down, seeing as they are photos of the image on TVs. However, even in this manner, the improvement is surprisingly obvious. Color me impressed.

Not looking at the picture but the TV itself (sharp logo, bottom right)... it seems the 480p is out of focus. Also the 720p is zoomed in more.

Yeah, I was about to say the same thing... so to me that is not a very good comparison.

Yea... i agree.

It's nice but I'll stick with upconverted DVD's until HD-DVD Players drop below $100 and the titles are $15....

Not going to upgrade all 400+ DVD's anytime soon.

Bandwidth is gone. Any other sources for these pics? Just ordered my HD-DVD drive for the 360, but I have to drive an hour to get it later today.

If its what I think it is, those pics have already been posted a hundred times on anandtech.
And we already determined that both photos were chopped and edited to make the HD look better in a single frame.

Cut and Paste the link into a new browser. It said Bandwidth Exceeded to me, but when I cut and paste they worked.

Drag and drop is faster.

Anyway looks really nice. You should have just made it one big picture though so it's easier to compare. I guess I can save it and back forward click real fast too.

Not necessarily.

HD sports is a good example of 720P shining.

The 480P pic is out of focus. Only a dumbass would use those pics as a comparison.

The 480 pic is slightly out of focus, but yea it was a stupid comparison... It wasn't horribly out of focus like some think.
