Mame, I'm just curious... what didn't you like about it? And if you were judging from a technical standpoint. The shooting, the cuts, and 95% of the editing was superb. Maybe the compressed file doesn't do justice, but it's not by far a sloppy film. The requirments also stated that it can't be more than 4 minutes long. And to develop an entire Ghostbusters scene in less than 4 minutes is kinda tough =)

No, I didn't take it down. Not sure what happened. Only used 3% of my BW. If someone wants to host it, that would be great. If not, there's not much I can do

The main circular part is a piece from a planter, all the other cylinders are PVC pipes and wooden dowels. It came out nice though =) In the end, I've had the most fun I've ever had doing this project. Was more of a personal thing than a project for a grade.

Good job on the pack... for a minute I was wondering if you somehow stole a real one used in the movies :p

The benefits of going to a technology/art school. Not only can you build cool stuff, you can make it look good. We airbrushed it then touched it up with silver paint on the edges to look like warn metal instead of wood.

Got an A in every category by the way. If you were to see all the other student films, you would view this as the next Godfather. College students these days have the attitude of a highschooler. They hate their classes, all they do is complain, and they don't want to be in college. Despite all that, they still pay 35 grand a year....weird stuff

Congratz - on the technical categories you definitely deserved the grade.

The proton stream was done frame by frame in photoshop =) I rotoscoped over the video in flash to make a guideline for me, then I imported into photoshop, went over it and added the effects frame by frame.

There's a program called AlamDV (now AlamDV3) which lets you import a movie clip, and add effects frame by frame. It's great, because it has tons of user created plugins, and allows you to used animated effects tweened over several frames. Great for pretty much any kind of special effect.

Just a tip for next time. My friend and I do little videos every once in a while and I think that your rotoscoping could be aided by Adobe AfterEffects. I don't now what you're editing on now so if it's something better anyway, ignore me.

No, I totally agree. We had a slacker in our group (Jon). And we got into a big argument about how we're not letting him do anything. The reason for this was that he didn't know how to do any of it, and he wouldn't swallow his pride and let us help him. So Colin and I said screw him, and we did the entire thing ourselves, except for the rotoscoping. That was the only thing he did so we had to use it. Could have been improved, and I really wanted to use after effects, but I didn't think with 2 days left to do post production that I'd have enough time to learn it well enough to make it look good.
