No offense to your noble goal of making a gaming/movie web site, but most sites I've seen not backed by a network or organization quickly die out fast. It really takes a lot of work and dedication to write your own reviews and news articles and you also can't depend on any one that isn't on your pay roll to do reviews for you.
No matter how the site turns out though, it will differently add some experience and something to your profile for later use. It's a very good practice.
I like the site lay out, nicely done. You're likely going to modify it in the next few weeks or months to make it perfect. As of right now, I think, your heading text on the top of the tables need to be more readable to the user. Black on dark brown is a little to gloomy to the eye.
