Kimbers are 1911's made for the masses - they're simple, midpriced, and not that bad for the $.

havent ever handled one (Couldnt afford one!) but from what I've read and heard its definately a top teir manufacturer on par with anything available. Not that I'd drop the 2000+ for a Valtro, SVI, Les Baer or any other extreme top tier manufacturers pistol.
But if I did, I think I'd go with a Valtro.
 
I'm sorry, but near custom isnt custom.

I dont mind dropping the $2500 check in the mail to Mike Voight because you're getting exactly what you're ordering. You havent lived till you've handled an SV.

You should look into Valtros. if i remember correctly, they are "custom". Not near custom, not look custom, not wanna be custom, but custom.

Hot damn! nice gun!!! I'm happy for you! RR makes nice guns as well as SVI and Valtro. Makes me wanna go back to pistol shooting again.
