Bought my first house back in October and paid too much for it....but I knew it had potential. The livingroom had wood panelling all around it and I tore down most of it. Let me know what you think... Here's the before and after. I only have to add baseboards and crown molding and I'm done.

I know the color may not be very masculine, but then....it looks distinctive and the ladies should like it. 😉

Nice work, looks a lot better. Looks like some finishing work to do on drywall (wall plates, trim, etc)...

I'm not a decorator by any means, I'm not sure that's the right color (my taste) for the furniture in there and the wood floor. Seems off to me, but, again, 100x better than before pic. Good job!

The amazing thing is that I did most of this during my last semester of college, so I was sanding the walls instead of studying for finals. 😛

I've actually done a ton more to one of the bedrooms, replaced part of my back porch cover, part of the bathroom subfloor, added a kitchen vent etc....lots of little projects...

The main bathroom is my next project. I bought a vanity for it this past weekend....I'm going to get ready to tile and wallpaper it soon...
 
I've been lobbying the wife pretty hard for some lime green. She was sceptical until we went to a housewarming this weekend with a green living room. It's an awesome color. I painted my office don't-shoot-me orange and it's freaking awesome. Pics when it is done in a few days.

That's actually a Grey Goose Vodka hat.... 😉 Don't dis the goose!

I'm going to replace all outlets and speaker wire connections to be white. I also have to put up crown molding and base boards...I just haven't picked them out yet.
 
looks very nice

my wife and I painted our living room with a pale green color of Ralph Lauren paint. Forgot the name. When the apartment was empty it looked white. After we started putting furniture in, it brought out the color in the walls and looks very nice.

Just so you know...I bought the paint from Lowes. American Traditions is the paint brand and the color is Homestead Parlor Sage.... I was surprised that it came out as well as it did because I just walked in with no idea what I wanted and decided on it within 3 minutes of looking. I wanted a lighter color because the ceilings are rather low in my house...
 
I personally don't like the wall color but that's just my own personal taste. It does look better than before.
