hi crazy person LOL. you can go to a local 5th scale track. there's always someone selling their car. either they have too many or get them from trades or whatevers. i just scoured around looking for them on the for/sale boards online.

a nice car to buy for beginners is an hpi rs4 3 rtr. runs around 239.99 at www.ultimatehobbies.com

let me know if you need anything else.

glad you guys enjoyed the video :)

ok, i'm not big on the whole r/c car thing....my r/c experience was limited to a few robby boats that i built and a single kyosho monster truck w/ a trailer i built...but all was battery powered

anyways, that is so cool!!

one question....is the exhaust exiting forwards out behind the front wheel? y would it exit in the opposite direction it would want to? i.e., flowing forward against the momentum/air flow of the car?

R/C cars rule! :)

The Zenoah on that thing is hardly a weed wacker engine. Much higher quality than that.

Use only synthetic 2-cycle oil @ 32:1 ... And that engine will last a very long time.

Now that would be sweet ( not the engine siezing but your wife killing you)
Actually, the engine block is pretty standard, not very expensive. It's just that Zenoah and the like make custom pull start assemblies, custom intake/carb assemblies, and custom drive train mounts. The rest is just a standard block, I have a couple exactly like his :D So, he could kill the engine and replace it with a $45 weedeater one ;)
Negatory.

If he ran straight gasoline with no mix, he wouldn't need to replace the bottom end.. he would need to replace the top end. A new cylinder with piston and rings will run you around 120 - 150$.

Even if he did fry the bottom end, a run of the mill weedeater engine block wouldn't work. For one, only the high end weedweaters have ball bearings...

Eeek...

Watched the video.. That wasn't your first run, was it?

Let your poor engine break-in before giving it full throttle! :Q

You need to let it idle for at least an hour... It is very important...

Cool vid. After watching the first part, though, I think someone needs to cut back on the caffeine. ;)
