I decided to do something fun with my iPod video.

It all started when I bought a spare white clickwheel on ebay because it was only 10.99 and what the hell right?

Well I have a black iPod video.

What does that get you?

Doesn't matter if you're black or white baby!

(BTW, it's a serious mod, because you have to unhook every damn thing and then remove the mainboard from the frame cage inside the thing)

Not necessarily bored, I used to work on iPods for a hobby and figure the best way to work on things is to tear them apart, and I had never fully taken an ipod apart.

That's almost as bad as a black man marrying a white girl, or two men getting married. Your iPod is an assault on traditional family values and the morality of the nation.

but...but...you ruined it. black with white? doesn't work. especially in a ipod. replace it immediatly! jk. nice job man! just make sure that your ipod doesn't get scratched. it's the saddest thing i see when ppl don't protect thier screen with anything and then it get scratched. anyway, nice job man!

It's more for novelty than anything. I've got a iskin3 case and full front cover so it doesn't get all scratched up (it was when I bought it from someone else but I spent like 5 hours cleaning the screen with scratch remover and it actually took it off)

How do you work on iPods but never take them apart? Good job though, now you gotta work on getting a blue wheel or something.

I have taken it apart and swapped hard drives in an iPod video, however I had never taken it fully apart (once you take off the back cover, there's the hard drive you have to disconnect, then the headphone connector, then the lcd & clickwheel connectors. After that there is a metal cage which is attached with 6 screws to the front plastic cover. remove the screws and then pry the front cover off of the metal backing. Then you have to disconnect about 15 other things to get the damn clickwheel out, which is challenging)

I've torn every other ipod apart before. I work on minis, 3rd & 4th gen, nano's and whatnot, but had never fully taken a video apart. Now I know what to do.
