I've had my q6600 for at least a year, runs stable at 3.0ghz.

Just wanted to make sure I had all the bios settings correct/good.


The parts-

q6600 G0 revision
Ultima 90 heatsink with scythe 120mm fan
asus p5k premium

In bios I have these settings

fsb 333
5-5-5-15 2T tRFC 40, the rest auto
ddr2-800
vcore 1.325V
vdamper enabled (they changed the name in bios recently)

In cpu-z this gives me 3.0ghz, rated fsb 1335, DRAM frequency 400, FSB😀RAM of 5:6. Dual channel - Symmetric

Running OCCT the 4 cores hover around 55c. The vcore at idle is 1.305 and jumps up at load to 1.31 so no problem with vdroop.

Anything look out of place there? I'm not looking for anymore o/c, just want to make sure nothing is being crippled by an incorrect setting.
 
all looks good to me. my vcore goes the other way around for me. its 1.3 in bios, 1.28 in CPUZ and Everest, and under load with Prime or similar it goes to 1.26-1.27
 
I've got the B3 stepping, with VCORE at low end of 1.32+V. Very few tweaks to CPU_FSB, 1.2V_HT, NB and SB voltages on my 680i motherboard for 3.0 Ghz.

I could get it as far as 3.2, but I have other projects with slightly newer pre-I7 technology, so I'm fine with it.

Even so -- have you tried doing this with the CPU : RAM ratio of 4:5? This would require getting the OCZ's to run at around [DDR]= 835 Mhz.

I'm running Crucial Tracer (DDR2-800)'s. Running them at 835 with 4,4,4,10,2T -- and just a hair above the mid-point of a voltage range with upper-bound at the Crucial 2.2V warranty limit.

Run a memory benchmark for the two ratios and see if 4:5 gives you a slight improvement.
