On my classic Athlon @ 750, if the benchmarks are accurate I get about a 200k nodes/sec increase by switching. On my K6 500 its about 30k on long and -1k on short. Has anyone else noticed the progress "bar" not working on the beta? It shows up on mine when the packet is finished.

Interesting. I ran the new beta client on three different NT4 PII 350 machines. ALL THREE gave me EXACTLY 2589292 for the OGR long bench the first time, but on second and third runs the numbers varied slightly, but they were still within 3k of the first result. I guess maybe the bench is a little more consistent now? Overall, it's about 2.59 Mnodes/s or 7.4 Knodes/s/MHz for this class of machine, or about 6-7% slower than Coppermine.

wetsprocket,

To get the progress bar back, go to the general options and change the options for the crunch-o-meter.

P.S. It seems that Bartman is starting to catch up to me... gotta go assimilate... but who?!?!?

[Edit again]

Pentium 233 MMX (NT 4) - 1.03 Mnodes/s
Pentium 200 MMX (NT 4) - 0.882 Mnodes/s

So for these slowpokes, that's only 4.4 Knodes/s/MHz. :(
