we have a 1997 Mazda Protege too! and it also happens(ed) to have its check engine light on. it wouldn't turn off whenever my uncle (he's a mechanic) reset the light so i think we just turned it off
I can't really give you advice on the first but since my expertise is more on transmissions but I can offer some insight on the last which I believe should actually be TransRange Sensor Circuit Malfunction (PRNDL INPUT) Which means your Manual Lever Position Sensor or PRNDL switch is probably defective. This not an uncommon problem with Fords and Mazdas of this period. The switch provides the PCM with information about what position the gearshift selector is in.
 a TonyH sighting!
I might be able to help a bit, the first code you listed is set off by the secondary (after the cat) O2 sensor, either it or your cat-con have gone bad.
The second one sounds like the gas cap isn't on tight or has a bad seal.
I think Tony took care of the third one quite well.
The 1st and 2nd sounds pretty related to each other. The 1st saying the catalytic converter is not working as good as it's supposed to be. The 2nd indicating there is a leak somewhere in the system. I have a feeling your exhaust is leaking simply throwing two codes. Unless you have a leaky exhaust and a bad catalytic converter. You Cat itself could have a hole/leak in it. The third I have no idea.
