Cheapest way to send package overseas

What the chepeast way to send package overseas via AIR?

USPS quote me for $70 without insurance. I can't add insurance because the destination country 🙁
DHL and UPS give me around $260 with insurance
FEDEX around $230.

Any other option?
It weight 6 pounds.

USPS surface mail.
Takes 2 weeks to a month though.

I've never heard of a 6 pound package costing $70 even with international global express mail, which would include insurance. Insurance is offered with any usps service except global priority and letter post mail.
