Cheapest way to get Huluplus/Netflix to new LED TV?

I just got the LG 42 LEDTV and am looking for the cheapest way to get Netflix onto this thing.

Here's my setup:
1) Onkyo RC360 7.1 receiver - has DLNA for music files (hard wired to router), I don't think it can do video though? Only talks about DLNA for music through windows media player so it most likely cannot do video.

Here all it says under the music section:
"As well as being compatible with earlier platforms, the receiver is compatible with Microsoft's Windows® 7 platform, which includes the DLNA 1.5-specified "Play To" media-streaming feature. "

2) 5.1 sound system
3) 1 computer windows 7 (my main computer)
4) 1 computer windows xp (extra one used for business)
All are hardwired into a router.

The main issue is that my two computers are on another level of the house (upstairs, hardwired) while the router is in the living room where the receiver/tv are. So not sure how well streaming would work out from the computers if I added a card.

So would the cheapest solution just be roku/wd live+ box, hardwired into the router? Or is there a cheaper solution through the computer-->router-->something else?

I would get the USB wireless card or an Access Point off Ebay. You can get a Access Point for under 50$
 
Generally you want a Blu Ray player for a TV like that, many offer internet streaming, powerline ethernet adapters reportedly work well for streaming.

If you have or are planning to have a Blu Ray player it may be able to do what you wish. If it just needs ethernet hook up, power line ethernet adapters are worth a look. Wireless may need dongle.

My Panasonic 210 BluRay streams well.--only $127. @ Amazon.
 
I ended up just getting a sony blu-ray player (bdp-s480) for about the same price as roku2 xs which has amazon/hulu/netflix/vudu. Also future-proofs a bit with 3D TV + DVD capability! Will let you know if it totally sucks or can stream ok.

That's what I did. Got a free 110 with my Panny TV. I really like how they have made the different streaming services applications that can be downloaded or upgraded individually. I may pick up a 210 for the upstairs tv as well.

According to the Sony site, this model does not have built-in wireless, though; you have to buy their adapter (another $70 or so). The BDP-S580 does have the wireless connectivity built in. I had one for a couple of weeks and took it back in favor of a Roku device (which has a better Netflix interface), because I was connecting to a SD TV. Now I have HD in my bedroom and am trying to figure out what to get for streaming to it. Will probably go with a Sony or Panasonic player with built-in wifi.

Yep, I don't need wireless so saved myself the $70. Plus for streaming Netflix and what not, you want to be hard wired unless you like waiting/lagging.

Depends on the device. Some stream wireless better than others. My wireless Apple TV is flawless, even on HD Netflix streams several rooms away. I had a sony TV with a wifi adapter about 15 feet from my router and it was useless streaming anything. Just broke down and strung a cat5 cable to that device.

Yep. My AppleTV has no problem streaming HD Amazon Prime. Same with HD Netflix when I had it. Likewise my GoogleTV has been flawless with HD stuff as well. All my devices are wireless. I hate wires.

It's free plug-in for XBMC. If you haven't tried some of XBMC plug-ins, you're missing out on the best part of XBMC. Anything by BlueCop is usually awesome.

It's also by BlueCop and it supports both free Hulu and paid Hulu Plus. Free Hulu used to be commercial free which was awesome but BlueCop added commercial support on a recent update. Luckily you can fast-forward through the commercials but I preferred without.

Can AppleTV do Vudu? Nope. Vudu is the best HD/3D "latest movie" service out. It was why I chose the Sony Blu-Ray over all others (Roku, AppleTV, WD Live). WalMart ftw! lol

Thank you! Grabbed and installed ice films addin ... This is good. Quality is so so but for ease of use it is grand.

You're limited to 480p streams because of limitation of AppleTV hardware. 720p will buffer because Icefilms uses divx/avi and AppleTV doesn't have hardware acceleration support for divx. But beggars can't be choosers and it's more than acceptable to me. Check out Navi-X plugin as well. Quality is so so too but it has some neat stuff that should keep you occupied if you're bored. With Hulu, icefilms, navi-x, Amazon prime streaming, you should never run out of stuff to watch. ESPN plugin is great if you're into sports and ESPN. streamDB plugin will allow you to watch all kinds of international live TV programming. Navi-X has streamDB channel too. Free Cable plugin by Bluecop is another good one. There are porn plugins as well if you're curious. Like I said, there's just crazy number of stuff to install and watch /w XBMC. I love my AppleTV and XBMC. 🙂

I'm currently using it on a PC. Quality is only so-so with Icefilms - even the "720p" stuff... 🙁

That's what I did. Love that player by the way. Got it for $77 on Amazon after all the credits etc.....now I just hope it holds up. It's pretty flimsy in the build but all the non videophile Blu Ray players feel pretty light and flimsy in my opinion.
