I have a solution for you. Go to www.totallyfreepaging.com. It is a limited free pager service, but you have to buy the pager. However, if you do everything execept for buy the pager, you get free voicemail with a local number. I'm not sure if it still works, as I set mine up a few years ago. My number still works though. Give it a try and let me know if it works.
