I'm looking for the cheapest videocard available with tv-out and AGP8X.

These are my only two requirements...I don't really care if the card can play games or not..it could be a 8mb card and it wouldn't matter. Any suggestions or links you guys know of where I can get my hands on one?

I'm having problems finding something super cheap, cuz most 8X cards are pretty new.

Why is AGP 8x a requirement? I see no reason why it should be, especially since your only other requirement is TV out, not 3D rendering speed or something else that might require high AGP bandwidth. All MBs that support AGP 8x also support AGP 4x, so you should be able to lower your bar to the latter. Nothing else matters to you? Not signal quality or even DVD acceleration?

I don't know anything about TV out quality, but I suppose you can pick up any cheap ATi Radeon 7x00 or 9x00 series card or any nVidia GF4MX or 5200.

It needs to be AGP8X simply because the motherboards only support AGP8X/PRO.

If you look at the newer mobo's, a whole chunk of them are only AGP 8X.

When I bought the mobo, I didn't realize that it will screw me over, cuz I assumed backwards compatibility..but going through the manual and a lot of the newer motherboards...I've realized that they have stopped supporting the slower AGP cards.

The cards that I've been looking at are the ATI 9200 series, geforce 5200 series, and geforece MX440s.

Just wondering if there is an even cheaper alternative. If not..then that is fine.

Are you sure about that? Do you mind providing a link to or the name of a MB that supports only AGP 8x?

All AGP 8x gear MUST, mandatorily, also support 4x.

Anyhow. Radeon 9200SE is your friend, VGA+TV even in its cheapest incarnation.

that is also what i thought...

Maybe..it just doesn't specify it and is just assumed to work...

I'm using the Asus A7N8X

Which by the way would be the same answer for any 8x board you would have mentioned.
