I live in an area without DSL or cable and I need some decent download speeds. Satellite internet seems to be the only option for me, does anyone hve a list of providers for satellite internet access? Thanks

Same boat here Doomguy! I've done alittle research, here's some findings if you don't have them allready.

Starband. It's gonna cost ya 69.99 a month and i could'nt find out how fast the speed is. They are going both upstream and down stream, which is nice. I have talked to a retailer here in town and they said it'd be about 2 months till i could get one. They also say that you have to have a professional install it, which costs around 200 bucks, or it voids the warranty. The equipment price is 400 bucks. So for 600 bucks +/- you'd be up and running.

DirecPC. Has just announced that there going up and down stream.

<< The new system offers return channel speeds up to 128 Kbps, optionally 256 Kpbs, and delivers data at the same speeds as the current product, at rates of up to 400 Kbps. Pricing will be competitive to other available broadband services. >>

They havent got the prices for the new service on the site yet, but i'm sure it's gonna cost you around what starband charges.
Good luck and PM me if you get hooked up and running. Like to hear from someone with Dish internet access to hear how they like it.

I got Sprint Broadband and it's been good to me ever since it was installed last month, it cost $49 bucks a month. Downloads are the shiznits but when it comes to uploads it's hella weak
