Well it's time for me to change the Phone/TV/Internet provider again. I had Cablevision/Optimum Online triple package for a year, but now they raised the price to the extent where it's completely ridiculous. The price for basic family TV package with unlimited US calling and cable internet adds up to more than $250 a month. On top of it all I'm not getting the HD channels I'm signed up for despite having an HD box. I only have a few HD channels which are junk. There's no Discovery in HD or anything like that. I called customer support and they just keep lying and telling me that I should have it and it's free as long as I am signed up for that channel(which I am signed up for) and have an HD box. (which I do). I had enough.

I'm looking for some better/cheaper deals without having to sacrifice too much. Off course if I do have to sacrifice a lot, I will. Obviously, drastic measures like cutting off the internet or TV are not an option. I'm looking to cut the bill by $50-100

Any suggestions for cheaper services? What do you use? How much do you pay?

Does Verizon offer FiOS in your area? I'm paying ~$100 for FiOS internet/TV/phone.

if you really want the cheapest, start with magicjack, $40/year first year for unlimited long distance. $20/year starting second year. i use it, it is ok, not great though. you have to plug it into a computer and check it every once in a while to make sure it is going. but you can't beat the price. even $40/year comes to less than $3.50 a month. for internet I have fios.

there is no way to get it cheap.

How I did it...

Phone = cell phone
TV = TimeWarmer. It's gonna be an arm and a leg no matter what...get some basic cable, + HD, + DVR, = a ton
Internet = cable, slowest speed, linked to above TV. I don't download alot anymore and just play halo3, so I don't REALLY notice the bandwidth difference going from 7mbit down -> 1.5mbit down.

Total for cable tv/internet = 100/month.

Verizon DSL for life plan starts at 14.99, but their customer service sucks, and the quality vary. (I'm fine with it in my area, but my co-worker didn't like it 20 miles away)

No there's no FiOS in my area. Yes I am in Brooklyn. Thanx for your replies. I'm going to make some calls...
