I bought a generic battery for my Samsung a310 on ebay and I got what I paid for - for $9.99 I got an "extended" battery that lasts a little more than a day. Crap. Should have known. Now that I realize I need to buy OEM, where can I get the best deal on them?

You're basically going to pay about the same for them everywhere. Just suck it up. I learned my lesson with cheap batteries/chargers.

holy crap i was just about to post a similar question about hte reliability of generic equipment.

ebay has some really good deals, but a lot of it is generic. here's the deal tho, the seller has a 30 day money back guarantee.... so presumably if the equipment was crap, i could return it right? and he has like 99.8% positive ratings...

The 3rd party ones I tried for my StarTAC sucked. They were even larger the Motorola extended one and lasted about as long as the "slim" Motorola one. I'm not even going to bother trying them on my Sanyo.

My experience with generic cell batteries has been hit or miss. I got a extended battery from cellphoneshop.net for my nokia 6160 and it only lasted about 16 hours before dying. I ended up just chucking the damn thing in the trash as it was crap. On the other hand, I bought two slim extended vibrating batteries for my phone on ebay and they last longer than my OEM Nokia batteries.

As for OEM prices, they are set by the manufacturer in most cases and they can't go lower than what the manufacturer specifies. You might be out of luck... :(

I just buy a desk charger & several batteries, did it for my wife & it worked great did it for my cell last week.

Agreed that the batteries are crap though, but for the price, I just get a couple of them & keep one or 2 charged up.

I actually bought my wife 2 desk chargers, so she's got a charger/battery @ work & home.

Save yourself the trouble and just buy the geninue accesories. OEM headsets, batteries, they feel and look cheap.
