Cheapest Graphics Card that will Play Star Trek - Legacy Comfortably ?

Hi ,

My brothers PC has a DFI LanParty SLi-DR Motherboard and a AMD Athlon 64 X2 4600+ 2.40 GHz CPU .

He wants to buy a Graphics card to play Star Trek - Legacy but only has around £70 - £80 to spend .

After looking around i was thinking of getting him either :-

XFX nVidia GeForce 8800GT Alpha Dog XXX 256MB '650Mhz' DDR3 @ £74
nVidia GeForce 8600GTS SUPER 512MB @ £73


I dont personally play games that much so i have no idea which of these cards would be best , or mabye there overkill for that game ?

Id say 8800gt fastest gpu as long as he has 2 gig ram the card will use some of that. I have 8600 in laptop it can play games but just.

Between those two choices, I would go for the 8800GT. The price difference is not that much and the 8800GT is a much faster GPU.
