Cheapest AMD Motherboard for a 9600GT

RaptorG

Hey guys, I am new to this forum and this is the first time I will be building a system.

I want to buy the cheapest motherboard that I can find

to run the AMD X2 5000+ processor and the 9600GT videocard

without any problems at all.

Anything that could handle the two options mentioned above without major BIOS updates
or right out of the box would help.

I am not an OC'er so everything will be running @ stock speeds.

NOT!

Let's try this again... welcome to the forums RaptorG. If you have never built a system before in your life, I would suggest finding an RL friend who has some experience, and buy that friend lunch or something in exchange for hanging out with you while you build your system, in case you run into any problems. Just from reading these forums, I've seen many, many, many posts such as this one where a new build just won't work. Helps to have an experienced person on hand.

As for cheapest board which will support your CPU and video card, why not just check with your favorite retailer? For instance, at Newegg you can choose all boards with PCI Express x16 slots that support your processor, and then sort them by price.

thanks for the help guys! you were absolutely great!

oh and thanks for the welcome too lolz

and now .. *to look for a friend who is experienced in rig building*

Any of the 790gx boards like biostar are about 99.00....the abit ax78 or the new asus 770 board will do you fine....
